    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

We're probably going to be getting something VERY different on the ground level than what we were led to believe. Which is too bad frankly. This city always seem to be a whole bunch of missed opportunities.

I feel like that is extremely short term thinking, especially for something that is going to be a centre of activity for 30 years. They would hamper their own potential revenues if they actually descoped like this.

T There is no chance there needs to even be a fight over this. Are you sure? Or are you thinking the Flames are utter idiots and have their minds stuck in the 1960s?

    Shawnessy Station | 69m | 20s | Telsec

Agreed. They really need to stop allowing these kind of things to go through. Look at Westman Village, University District and West District. We can and are already doing better. I am hoping that they change their Phase 2 design. Phase 1 I still do not find that bad as a start. Hopefully we can...

    Shawnessy Station | 69m | 20s | Telsec

The building looks pretty good. Here is hoping they wise up after Phase 1 and drop the excessive waste of space parking on the rest of the project. It is supposed to be a TOD ffs... At least it is residential over retail. Baby steps is all we can seemingly do here in this city.

    Shawnessy Station | 69m | 20s | Telsec

Looks like this is under construction. It isn't great, seems to relying again far too heavily on parking (for being literally right next to a C-Train station, that is silly). Meh is my feeling.

    Courtyard 33 | 21.64m | 6s | RNDSQR | 5468796 Architecture

Great option to get some local artists to paint them with different motifs.

    Calgary Regional Rail Transit

I doubt it. They are not going to be the same kind of service and different markets. This will not be a daily commuter train - it will be too expensive for that. This will only be for tourists heading to Banff. We need both for the future growth of the city. Especially with the fact that we...

    Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Thread

I notice that there is construction and cranes around the Shawnessy LRT, does anyone know what the TOD they are building there is going to be like and who is the architect/builder?

Agreed! That being said they can still go back and add more later on. I think it would look so much better if they did.

I really do not understand how or why it has dragged on so long.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

This city really needs less input from residents in all honesty. I am glad this never got public consultation earlier.

https://www.calgary.ca/content/dam/www/pda/pd/documents/current-studies-and-ongoing-activities/anderson-station-tod/anderson-station-arp-proposed.pdf Does anyone remember the Anderson TOD that was proposed? Has there been any updates on this? It has been well over 5 years since we have heard...

    Calgary Regional Rail Transit

https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/race-to-build-high-speed-calgary-edmonton-rail-on-with-second-pitch-1.5502158 Can't wait to see this start construction! It is far more viable than the TransPod proposal.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

NIMBYs have far too much say in this city honestly. We spoil them rotten.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Really this is the best thing to do, otherwise if you try and go ahead with an $8.5 Billion project, the AB government for sure would kill it. This isn't an Oil and Gas project after all.

    Trees in Calgary

Calgary doesn't? That blows my mind. Calgary needs that law more than Vancouver does even.
