Wow, that’s a lot of different materials! Love the massing though

    Calgary International Airport

Wow, almost 3 times the traffic of Edmonton and almost 5 times the traffic of Ottawa and Winnipeg. Edmonton won't flat-line as quickly as Ottawa and Winnipeg, but I agree, over the long term their future isn't great. I see it becoming more of a feeder airport for Calgary.

    Calgary's Homeless

You hit the hammer on the nail JBi. The same people who ardently push for more downtown density and more people living downtown are also the same people who want the Drop in centre and related treatment facilities to be downtown. And then they wonder why a large number of people are choosing...

Happy to see the tower portions of Nude, the 14th St. hat, and Oliver rising.

I don’t think any heritage buildings are getting the wrecking ball. I agree, though, might as well go to 15 stories. The LRT is going to be a block away..

    Kit at Kensington | 50m | 15s | Jemm Properties | LOLA

As much as I want to see something developed on that location, I think it should be done properly. It’s one of the few locations that could support zero parking due to the LRT, but definitely should have some bike enclosure/racks for sure.

    Calgary's Beltline

That would solidly dense core. Which downtown neighbourhoods with that include Sunalta. Sunnyside, etc.?

I wish there was a bit higher density on that Crown Park location, but I’m happy to see some development happening.

    Taxation and Density in Calgary

Yeah, property tax for cities in Ontario and Quebec tend to be higher, and in some cases a lot higher. Whenever I hear people griping about property tax in Calgary, I chuckle. Personally, I wouldn’t have any problem, paying more property tax, if it was the same across the board and it meant...

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

I didn’t know those plants were called blue oat grass, but my parents had some planted in their yard about five years ago and they’ve been solid. One thing about them is don’t use much water, probably why they have survived on 13th ave. I mean it’s safe to say the city probably hasn’t bothered...

    Calgary's Beltline

With the city seemingly no longer doing municipal census's, are we going to be able to get numbers for neighborhoods like the Beltline?

Does anyone know what's going into that location in the post above?

This is the first time I've really looked thoroughly through this thread, and I really like what's happening at West District. Thanks @MichaelS and @Chinese_T for the constant construction updates!

University Innovation Quarter | ?m | ?s | University of Calgary Properties Group

That is the general gist of how the city’s taxes work, but it’s not that simple. New properties are new revenue sources and new costs centres. In theory if the new properties add more revenue than cost, it help lowers the overall tax requirement and if new costs are more than the new revenues it...

    Calgary's Kensington

I haven't been down to Kensington area for some time now. How are the businesses doing these days? There were a number of them closing down during the pandemic.
