Not very bike friendly either - you're basically forced to have a car to get anywhere (or a boat to get across this artificial pond 😑).

    Calgary Restaurant Thread

I've gone to A1 many times - very good food indeed. They hosted a filipino inspired menu for the last few weeks but they just changed the menu. Calcutta cricket club/ Model milk/ Pigeon hole are my suggestions.

Mission 19 by Gravity Architecture. Some trees and a couple of houses got taken down just recently. From the page it looks to be condos instead of rental units - great for mission https://www.gravityarchitecture.com/mission-19

    Trees in Calgary

I was referring to the picture of Midnapore and the poplars - not 19th avenue NE with Elms! Poplars look great when healthy - but like @The Familia stated, I agree these tree species should only be planted in open spaces - not along sidewalks or tight spaces. Manitoba Maple is another example

Sadly these trees are short lived and have heart rot early on leading to structural damage. Also the root damage on...

I believe you're right! I checked gravity architecture and they seem to focus on inner city filling also I'm glad to see it's not a rental build development..

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

I’ve looked at the Calgary development map and can’t seem to find any development proposal for this site. I heard the houses are coming down on Monday and some condominiums are going up. Anyone has any information? The location is in mission close to 17th ave and 4th street...

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Yes - It's true Calgary had basically no trees when first settled other from the south slopes and other pockets of wind shelter. Other cities like Las Vegas, Phoenix or Abu Dhabi definitely had no tree coverage but people like some green space so they make it happen. When I lived in Vancouver I...
