My money's on a 2 story Motel6, with an attached liquor store.

First I've heard of this myself, but personally, I'm not a huge fan of putting bike lanes on busy commuter streets. I always prefer if they are on the quieter streets...makes for a safer/nicer experience for everyone.

Personally not a huge fan of this one. Too many material variations, all of which look pretty low-end even in photos. Looks like a mix of garden-shed and veneer.

Agreed...although looking at those material swatches haltcachfire posted, I don't hate the olive green/terracotta brick combo. Done right, that could look nice. It most likely won't be done right, but just saying.

In agreement...I wish they kept the scalloped design, but this looks pretty good. Caveat being they pull it off with nice materials/craft.

Seems like one of those projects where you want to be the one who buys it on the cheap from the guy who went bankrupt taking it to 90% completion.

While it may not add style points, I'm sure many in the Beltline would appreciate access to more affordable shopping options for basics. One of the things I noticed during my time living in the Beltline is you either had to put up with significantly higher prices, or make a trip to the suburbs.

Ah that's what I thought, but was wondering if they started back up. Too bad it became a victim of its own success, with all the dunderheads that started showing up and crashing their cars. I remember driving by the last crash and wondering if that was going to be it...

It's no Lambo, but had a chance to take the fun car out for a spirited drive over the weekend. The light and trees were too nice not take a couple of photos.

There must've been some exotic convention/metup last night. I saw 6-7 random Ferraris/Lambos (although not that one!) yesterday on the way home from work. I also chased a Lotus Emira for a few blocks as it was the first time I've seen one in person...looked fantastic. Definitely fun-car type of...

Le Germain overall has aged really well imo. I wish more projects today achieved that level of quality.

I love the old "Alberta" logo, it was a nice slice of retro Canadiana. I much prefer it to the tourist-board inspired look of the new one.

Yeah the reality is that almost all the "vibrancy" issues in the inner city stem for the drug/homeless problem, and that can't be solved via nicer urban design. No matter how many nice platters, or redesign sidewalks, or pickle ball courts you put in...most people don't want to hang around...

The second phase looks exactly what I'd assume an affordable housing project to look like. Frankly, I wish they'd just take the extra time and built another version of the original (maybe with a contrasting color scheme).

I would pay big money not to be seen in that thing.
