A few years back, in the middle of winter, we conditionally bought a house. By the time of the inspection a couple of weeks later, the snow in the backyard had melted...revealing the 100+ scattered turds the owners just left piling up. It was disgusting, and enough to walk away from the deal.

While I'm in favour of more aggressive enforcement/prevention on the front end, I think more of exactly this is needed for those who want help on the back end. Treatment centers out in the countryside, away from the temptation of the streets, where people can focus on recovery in a positive...

Apart from the density, It seems like projects with these elaborate indoor/outdoor courtyard proposals rarely seem to materialize as envisioned. They make for great renderings, but not sure how realistic they are in our climate. I'm sure it would be VE'd down.

That's really too bad, the previous proposal was much more interesting both from an architecture and use perspective. Only a few blocks from me too, so I probably would've used that laneway retail.
