    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

What's old is new again. Pre-"Red Mile" you had a bunch of retail, including clothing shops, that was swept away in favour of bars and restaurants. Now the pendulum has swung back.

I assume that's the rightmost dollar amount. What are the other columns, and where did you find this?

    The Gryphon | 22.7m | 6s | Mancal | LOLA

The address is correct, but their map thing is broken. 3518 19 St SW is 100% the heart of Marda Loop.

    New name: The Gryphon.

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

I just don't see that with 2 St. You might get passenger doored? But even then there's a barrier mitigating that. The main risk, the driver side door, doesn't open into the bike lane. Yes. This one needs enforcement.

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

11 St SW doesn't have a turning lane anymore in some spots. 5 St underpass used to be 4 driving lanes. There might be others. But in general the bike lane program has been done strategically and sensibly, and has really improved the inner city. Seriously, I love the 5 St/2 St/12 Ave lanes, and...

    General Construction Updates

I saw a couple of people using the tables, and the mister went off at one point. But I was just passing through 2x a day for the 4 days, and the weather was pretty bad most of the time. One thing I will say is the pedestrian flow to the bridge to Prince's Island is good. It's a straight, wide...

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Weird chart. Isn't the important thing which side of 0 on the X axis we're on, not which side of that arbitrary line on the Y axis? Arguably we have more in common with Hong Kong and Taiwan than Ireland here.

No. Expect about 6 months for development permit approval.

As recently as 2020 it was PBA Group. Not sure about now.

Is that the same lot as LOC2024-0047?

Sorry for the confusion. The earlier posts in the old thread were about 112 17 Ave SE, which I'm not sure has an actual proposal, or is even related to Stampede City Suites. So, I created this new thread.

Discussion for 101 on 17th (FORMER location of Economy Glass). I moved posts to a new thread because these were previously posted in the Stampede City Suites thread, which is a different project at 112 17 Ave SE (and the CURRENT location of Economy Glass). Edit: Although I can see why those...

    Calgary Restaurant Thread

I noticed Krispy Kreme on Macleod is now open. Not sure when that happened. Here's hoping it works the second time. Definitely a more convenient location for me this time around.
