Great news about the UofC. Hopefully the City finds a way to finally purchase the part of Centennial Gardens where the grass and basketball court is. With all those students headed to the area, it would be a shame to lose a good chunk of activity and green space to another development

I almost hope not... it's such a terrible design for such a premier location. I really wish the City of Calgary had baked in some design standards when they sold the property.

Drove by this one today. I was surprised at how much of a setback exists from the Elbow River. I figured this would have been built almost right up to the river's edge.

It's for private developer use. Essentially the idea is to save time and money for getting new infills approved which should open it up to more smaller builders. Future federal infrastructure funding for provinces is meant to be tied to provincial governments approving the designs. Some more...

Nice to see Forest Lawn getting some love. 17th Ave SE has so much potential given the Max Purple and its proximity to downtown. Also kind of helps push back on the narrative that infills only happen in gentrified neighbourhoods and create million dollar places.

Anyone know more of the details behind this? Like is it something new being constructed or just an abstract concept based around existing CPKC yards...

So apparently the cost of that naming rights sponsorship deal with Cowboys for Millennium Park is the City of Calgary allowing them to pave over the entire green space so that Cowboys can pop up their Stampede tent there. This pisses me off given how little park space exists in the downtown...

17th and 4th is the crossroads of two of our most important mainstreets in Calgary so put me down as an enthusiast for this project simply because it clusters 3 tall towers together in an otherwise low/midrise area which means that it is likely to attract causal explorers of Calgary to the area...

Nothing talking about extending the Max Purple west to COP? I thought that was one of the plans?
