    Stampede Hotel | 45m | 12s | Truman | NORR

That pool deck should offer an epic view of the fireworks during Stampede. If it is heated to the point where people can be comfortable swimming at night while the fireworks are going off, I can see it being an Instagram-able photo moment that goes viral enough to fill the hotel based on that alone.

    Element Hotel Calgary Downtown | 48m | 12s | PBA Land Development | NORR

This should be a great patio in the summer time. https://retail-insider.com/retail-insider/2025/06/calgarys-newest-rooftop-restaurant-and-bar-bow-bend-set-to-open-downtown-in-early-summer/

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

What were these amendments and would they have actually helped spur more development? Happy to see the Communities First people get called out since they seem to be the most hypocritical people on council as their speaking points are all about cutting red tape and building homes and yet the...

    Gresham Block | 24m | 6s | Truman | Casola Koppe

It feels like the street level is rather boring and repetitive, especially for Inglewood's mainstreet. It would be nice if they could have worked some of the arched flourishes that they have on the top floor into the ground floor as well. They kind of did it for the one corner of the building...

Whatever the fake wood was that was used for Le Germain has aged really well. Hopefully this will be something similar

Are there any shadowing protections for Riley Park? I'm all for continuing to add density in this area but at the risk of sounding like a NIMBY, I also don't want to see anything that diminishes our limited inner city parks.

Sand and umbrellas added to the Eau Claire Plaza beach chairs. I'm actually starting to get excited about seeing this space fully opened. I think we will all be pleasantly surprised...

The vibrancy used to go pretty late into the night on Friday and Saturdays when the street was completely closed to cars. When Terry Wong became Councillor he pushed to have it reopen to vehicles after 6pm again and it's killed off a lot of that vibrancy again because instead of people hanging...

Stephen Ave streetscape improvements kick off in July. Just like the businesses in this article, I too have mixed feelings about the decision to move the patios into the middle of the street. https://calgaryherald.com/news/whats-next-stephen-avenue-downtown-calgary

White's Flowers has been my go-to for years. Plus 1 on the loss of independent businesses. I do like the building and the design though.

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

News out of Ontario that may be relevant to the UCP's latest anti-bike lane populist push... https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/ontrio-bike-lane-injunction-1.7515518

Nice to see this program turning into a success. I think there's also 1 office to hotel conversion underway as well if I'm not mistaken? "There are 11 office-to-residential conversions currently underway, creating 1,498 new homes for roughly 2,400 future downtown residents."...

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

The UCP have now made an anti bike lane video and are paying to run it as an ad on Twitter. This government drives me nuts... which I'm sure is the entire point of this as they hope to change the channel on their health care procurement scandals and create wedge issues for conservative parties...

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

Looks like the UCP is borrowing a page out of the Doug Ford populist playbook and want to go to war against bike lanes heading into the next municipal election. I'm sure they'll be targeting a Calgary project next. The odds of seeing the 1st St SE cycletrack come into existence when the MNP...

    The Kenten | 40m | 9s | Davignon Martin

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet or not but was watching the Flames game tonight on Sportsnet and there was an add for The Kenten that featured a banner saying it is 50% sold and that construction begins in June.

If there was a land swap that happened to officially make the land Calgary Parks that's good news! I wasn't aware that had happened. Last I knew was that the City had a signed a lease deal for the land in order to install the basketball court but the land was still zoned for a high rise...
