Not sure if it's been noted yet or not but excavation has begun in earnest at that site in Kensington along 10th St where the old mid-rise building was condemned and torn down by the city. Not thrilled with the design but still happy to see this gap in the retail street wall get filled in.

Speaking of odd design, has anyone been through the intersection at 15 Ave and 11 St SW recently? I had a buddy venting about the poor design of this in regards to the cycle tracks but haven't seen it for myself.

Ya, what is with the future traffic light poles being positioned right in front of where the cycle track should cross Macleod Trail? That seems dumb. Am I missing something here?

The strip mall on the corner of 1st St NE and Edmonton Trail is now in full demolition mode. I know there was a mid-rise proposed for the site a while ago. I would assume this indicates that construction is imminent, unless they are just clearing the site to flip it later?

It's an interesting question... what happens with such an important downtown heritage asset if the current owner sees no value in it? We see this occur a lot with smaller buildings that just get knocked down but this is definitely a different scale...

Quite a few RFPs now posted for the Green Line. Sounds like by October 2026, things will start to take shape in terms of suburban bridges and road realignments but it won't be until 2027 before we start to see some of the true signature elements, like track and the Bow River/Deerfoot bridge...

Has anyone actually gone in and checked out the SAM Centre? It seems like one of those odd projects that doesn't really draw anyone aside from some school groups and a handful of tourists during Stampede time. I can't imagine the café in there lasting too long unless the Event Centre...
