I'm probably in the minority here, but I always loved the West Village as the location for an arena / fieldhouse. Perfect anchor for that location, IMO. Accessible in all four directions, including the river path.

As a side note, I just love that three-storey building next door where Killian used to be; when I lived in the area as a kid, it was just as cool then. Its recent modernization was really well done IMO. Now I miss Killian, lol.

I believe Vecova has done a study about turning that space into an affordable housing development. Not sure what came of that though, probably a ways off yet (if at all).

I have high hopes for this one; hopefully the final design is high quality and worthy of its location and visibility. I can tell you the architect's hands were tied on this one, considering the considerable value engineering that went on throughout the life of this one. It's too bad too, I know they were pretty stoked about the original vision.
