I definitely prefer option 1, having the patio overlooking 17th ave, adds to the street vibe. I don't care for the street parking, but I can live with it. I'm happy to see Certus is behind it, they have a proven track record.

And a bummer that it will block downtown's view of this tower. This is probably my favorite residential tower in the city. BTW, I drove through Bridgeland and down 9th yesterday. I'm blown away by how different Bridgeland feels with these buildings!

It’s not really fair to compare those cities to Calgary though. Asia is a different market, and those cities have super cheap labour. London isn’t super cheap but is a global tourist hub. The economics of building a new tower wouldn’t make sense in Calgary.

I used to go to that 5 Guys about once a month. It wasn’t the cheapest place, but it was good. It was a downer when they closed.

But that would be thinking outside the box. Something Calgarians often struggle with.

The unit in the photo above is probably not much larger than 200 sq ft maybe 350 sq ft as it looks to have a room off to the left also, but with those large windows the unit will feel roomy for its size.

It's turning out .....exactly as expected.

I'm not an expert, but I would say it is. The type of drill in the pic (caisson driller) is different than the types used for testing.
