Because it contains an affordable housing component, I believe it is likely being fast tracked, so it's certainly possible - but the DP might need to go to Planning Commission first. Unless, of course, they're doing a Scotia Place and can start shoring and excavation in advance?

Very happy with this one. Arlington's projects so far have turned out well which bodes well for Francesco's and also gives me some optimism that Sentinel won't end up looking so bad after all.

I agree. One of the concerns I have with these rowhouse developments going up everywhere is that they seem to be a way for developers to use it as a shortcut to achieve apartment-style density without apartment-style amenities like proper waste & recycling collection and decent common spaces...

I'd like to see a future stadium be a catalyst for redevelopment, so a location either on the bus barns site or the west village get my votes.

ICE has decent ridership but unfortunately, Airdrie has a mayor and council who don't place much importance on transit. Mayor Peter Brown once said that ICE should be entirely self-sustaining (ie not rely on subsidies or taxpayer support). Not sure if his approach on this has changed, but with...

I would think a decent CFL-ready facility should be relatively affordable - this isn't the NFL. Capacity of 30,000 would be fine. Winnipeg, Hamilton and Regina all built new stadia, and all are cities half or less the size of Calgary.

At some point, I wonder if structural issues might force a debate about McMahon's future? I wonder if a new or massively renovated stadium at the centre of a high density redevelopment similar to what was done in Ottawa might be the way forward?

Confirmed, Calgary hosting the 2026 Grey Cup. Festivities to take place at Stampede Park/BMO Centre with the game itself at McMahon. But no expansion or renovation of McMahon, sadly.

The DP for AHC's site to the south has been submitted. DP2024-07712, should be showing up on Dmap soon. It is, not surprisingly, more or less the same as the rendering MichaelS posted on Aug 10.

That one looks decent. The brick makes a big difference on these IMO.

It is a "missing middle" application similar to some of the others we've seen along 20th. They had a billboard up for a while showing the renders and if I recall correctly it's similar in size, scale and design to the one going up across from the Scandinavian Centre at 20th and 7th.
