I'm not going to hold out hope for 70 storeys, but I would think to make purchasing that site worthwhile, probably as a bare minimum they'd be looking at 40 storeys (and more likely at least 50). It'd just be nice to see something go up on that site after 40 years.

I know neither is downtown, but they also have Marc & Mada, and the new 26 storey tower planned for West District both under review. Those are both big highrise projects that will keep them busy.

Seeing how much is finished or under construction in WD is impressive, but that model shows that they're not even 1/3 done. Can't wait to see how it's going to look in a few years' time.

It certainly will! Few of the big projects that started this year even have a crane up yet. Between all of the towers that will see crane bases in the coming months and there likely being 4 cranes at the Event Centre, it's going to be the most cranes we have had in a long time.

Yet another sign that TOD may finally be starting to happen in Calgary, at least in earnest. DP recently submitted for a site in between Chinook Centre and the LRT station. Nothing spectacular by any means, but I do think it's cool that they are doing mid block multi on a smaller site.
