Lots of potential. With enough development maybe the city will change the bike land from painted to protected.

Oh yes I remember this one, it was posted by @MichaelS a while back. Happy to see this is happening.

    Roads, Highways & Infrastructure

Depends what we mean by overwhelming. I believe roughly 2/3rds would support the interchanges if it came to a plebiscite.

    Roads, Highways & Infrastructure

Calgary’s done well and is a great place to live, no arguments from me. I’m referring more to NA’s auto-centric dependency in general and that just because transit runs at a deficit, doesn’t mean interchanges don’t. The interchanges themselves might not run a deficit ever year, but all roads...

    Roads, Highways & Infrastructure

It would overwhelmingly be the interchanges, just as it would be in most other North American cities. Unfortunately it’s that same mentality that got us to the problems we’re facing today. This mentality of having billions of roads going in every direction, everywhere to make it convenient for...

    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

But isn’t it the opposite really? The park where Oktoberfest is held is the one that’s under utilized almost all year round. Millions of people drink beer in tents for two weeks and then it’s empty the rest of the year. Unlike the park in Munich, Stampede Park doesn’t have a focus on temporary...

    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

Munich isn’t a very good comparison, although the land is smaller, it is empty most of the year outside of Oktoberfest, and has little for permanent buildings. It’s a massive parking lot for most of the year. It’s true, during Oktoberfest there are tents everywhere filled with thousands of...

The preparation for the exterior panelling seem to be like 1 to 2 years, and then the panelling went up in like week lol.

I’m 100% sure these will be marketed to out-of-town investors. If it wasn’t for some inside knowledge on this forum, I would’ve never known about it.

Who will be Alberta's largest metro in a decade?

All the predictions I’ve seen for future growth of the 2 cities show the gap widening over time. They're only predictions, of course, and can change over time, but it makes sense that Calgary would continue to grow at a faster pace.

With 251 units it’ll be taller for sure than the original planned height for three 3rd tower. It would be great if it was taller than the current twins.

    Calgary Car Thread

It’s not uncommon to see expensive sports cars nowadays. I see Maseratis almost every time I’m out driving. I’ve never seen it, but I’ve heard there is a Koenigsegg that has been spotted in the city.

I hope the Fina building doesn't get covered up with that cheap composite paneling they're putting on everything these days.

    Statscan numbers

I am seeing so many small Row house projects getting built around the city, next year’s numbers should show a rise in that category. They’re becoming a very popular choice. Great to see apartments on the rise.
