I know! it's frustrating as hell. I can already imagine Chucky parading the cup around. I guess Treliving did what he could. Chucky was leaving one way or another.

It was, but iirc it's now a different developer,

Minto sounds promising. At least there's a decent chance it'll get built.

Who will be Alberta's largest metro in a decade?

That's true, but the debate on who has a better urban environment can never be decided, there are too many metrics, and too much of it comes down to personal opinion, but population numbers can't be debated :)

Who will be Alberta's largest metro in a decade?

Calgary being the largest metro in Alberta in a decade is all but guaranteed, and will likely be the largest forever going forward.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Some former players have had a good run as GM's, some not. Let's hope Conroy falls into the Joe Sakic, Steve Yzerman group.

    Arris - 5th and Third | 142.03m | 41s | Embassy Bosa | Amanat Architect

Exactly what I was thinking. It bridges it from almost every angle.

Totally. It's a waste of good inner city space.

    Crane Count

Just to be clear, that second crane is for Block 15, but the other one is for Forge correct?

They had a by for the first round, so really this is the third round. The AHL is quite the grind, with some teams potentially going 5 rounds to win it. Glad to see the Wranglers are doing well, especially Wolf. We might need a goaltender if next season is a repeat of this season.

Nor should they be. It’s one thing to be crusty, but it’s another to be an asshole.

    Calgary Car Thread

It’s always nice to see a Ferrari or Lambo, but I remember the days when you rarely saw them. Yesterday I was driving down 17th and saw two Lambo‘s and a Ferrari.

    BMO Centre Expansion | 25m | 5s | CMLC

These recent pictures looks better than the ones we saw earlier, maybe it’s the summer lighting but this building looks good IMO. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product, along with the changes around the new train station and entrance off of 17th.

    Calgary Event Centre | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

Her win was more of timing and opportunity. At the start of the campaigning she didn't have much traction at all, but she had some name recognition and Farkas was the candidate who stood out. As time went on she picked up all the 'anyone but Farkas' votes. Literally every person I know who voted...

    Statscan numbers

Most Calgarians don’t realize the relative ease of buying a SFH here compared to other cities. In Toronto, Vancouver, or in Quebec a large number of people live in apartments because it’s the only affordable option. Same here to some degree, but people have more options and often live apartment...

It seems like everybody is OK, giving them one more year, myself included, but after that, it’s time for a rebuild. And I am with Alex YYZ, if we’re going to rebuild, let’s do this right and get some more big time draft picks.

We’re going to get 5 more years of average hockey and an inevitable rebuild if we wait. One or two more years with this core is fine, but we’re going to need a rebuild soon either way.

Me too, I promised myself I wasn’t gonna pay attention to any of the hockey scores but I can’t help it.

    Alberta Provincial Politics

Whatever the result is, it’s going to be close. Calgary, of course is the key battleground, but Edmonton’s exurbs and Lethbridge are also keys. Lethbridge was close last election and if the NDP can take those two seats from the UCP, it will help. Also, if the NDP can take even a couple of seats...
