Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

I've almost killed people on that stretch of Bowness Road, too many people pull over to the side and get out of their car into the driving lane without even looking. That's a downside of very narrow roads when people aren't used to them...

How long before the art burns someone's coat and gets put back in storage? lol

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

Fair enough, a wide road with a 40km/h speed limit is a great place to get a ticket usually! Tighter, busier urban roads are always slower because it's not conducive to speed. Calgary has too much ot the former and not enough of the latter...

    Calgary & Alberta Economy

So do any of our post secondary schools teach the skills that these tech companies need? Currently there are more than 4000 vacant tech positions in this city and that number will only grow!

The change to 40km/h happened before the bike lanes no? That was the citywide change last spring.

    US Politics

The scary thing is the main news sources the crazy republicans follow are barely even mentioning this whole situation. They are foaming at the mouth about Colbert's "insurrection" but completely sticking their head in the sand about anything January 6. I'm scared for the US and slightly less for...

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Except that all those people living in Airdrie will still drive into Calgary for work, the difference is that their tax dollars stay in Airdrie. Not sure if there is any sort of cost sharing initiative for the Calgary region to help with infrastructure costs...

Good sign for a building instead of a parking lot!

Maybe they are doing a mix, the pic I quoted looks like it's sitting on the slab edge, but that picture is definitely hung off the slab. Strange. Curtain wall is far superior, so I'm hoping it makes up the majority of the building!

    Calgary | Stephen Avenue Quarter | 241m | 66s | Triovest | Gibbs Gage

If they eliminated the part overtop of Stephen Ave and didn't put any holes in the heritage street wall I could accept this development, but as is, hell no!

    Calgary | Era | 41.15m | 13s | Minto Group

No curtain wall (or window wall) no screens on the balconies and a huge list of other VE items. Just hope the cladding doesn't look super cheap as this is not too similar to the original design.

    Calgary | The Dells | 48m | 15s | Remington Group | Systemic Architecture

You can see the windows sitting on the slab here. Definitely window wall as curtain walls will haver the window frames completely outside the slab hung off the edge. Also, the placement of the horizontal mullion that sits level with the top of the slab is a dead giveaway, curtain wall would just...

    Calgary | The Dells | 48m | 15s | Remington Group | Systemic Architecture

This is window wall, not curtain wall. You can tell because it sits on the slab edge and isn't hung off the end of it.

Don't see any smoke, so carbon monoxide would be my guess.

Yeah, as a bottom feeder that's probably a fair concern. Maybe just don't eat things you catch in the city in general...
