Sunnyside Triangle Site | 20.8m | 6s | Attainable Homes Calgary | ATCO

This is a critical site in Kensington. It's too bad they didn't just do another 6th Ave Hindle-design stick build. Attainable's modular building is not the prettiest...

Or a design like was used for Village Block which was also affordable. Does anyone know if there is significant cost savings by doing the modular?

I have no idea on the costs of these builds myself, but I'm assuming that Attainable housing would choose the most cost-effective option, or is it a case of someone telling Attainable homes it's the cheapest option when it isn't?

According to Attainable yes, modular has significant cost savings and speed of build.

Being pedantic, but this is not in Kensington. Kensington is a BIA zone. This is in Sunnyside.
Technically it's Sunnyside, but Kensington seems to be the de facto name. Might as well bend to the will of the general public and combine Sunnyside and Hillhurst into Kensington. :)

…combine Sunnyside and Hillhurst into Kensington. :)
Locals colloquially say "meet in Kensington for coffee" without implying a particular side of the street (Hillhurst vs Sunnyside). Most of us would even include Acme Pizza and Chicken on the Way. As president of the Kensington ICA—Informal Community Area, unaffiliated with and somewhat ignorant of the exact BIA—I'll propose to include Sunnyside Triangle at our next board meeting. It's this evening at 6:11 pm at my kitchen table. Please bring a salad if you're joining.

Nah, we’re good, thanks.
Locals can call it Sunnyside and Hillhurst, and it'll be a special way of telling people you're a local, seeing as the rest of the city refers to it (incorrectly) as Kensington....it'll be like 'Tell me you live in Sunnyside without telling me you live in Sunnyside'.

And if you know the difference between South Calgary and southern Calgary, then you really know ball

Kensington is a construct created to distract Hillhurst residents with quinoa and coffee to keep them from wading too far east into our hood.

Altadore has attempted this as well to keep South Calgary folk on the north side, however with less success. Many are seen wandering 33rd muttering "what is a Marda Loop? Do I like or hate the name Marda Loop? Who came up with Marda Loop? That sign sucks. What is a Marda?"
