Good god!
Open concept office to individual units, not to mention all the utility/fire/air flow changes....it'd be impossible to keep as isMaybe a dumb question but would it have not been possible to just leave the original exterior material as-is? Is it that challenging to workaround?
Not dumb at all. Many of us have wondered the same thing. I've been told that it's to do with the new building codes relating to exterior insulation ratings. I'm not sure if that applies to this particular building, but it wouldn't surprise me..Maybe a dumb question but would it have not been possible to just leave the original exterior material as-is? Is it that challenging to workaround?
This sums it up.Why would they do this to such a cool building? So disappointing that they have an opportunity to give new life to an attractive, older, underutilised building and instead of working with the architecture, they decide to make it ugly.
