Construction begins on Slokker Homes’ third East Village development, Vibe

"Across 14 storeys, Vibe will bring 218 rental homes and six commercial units to East Village. The building is designed to foster a strong sense of place through thoughtful architecture, livable spaces, and an engaging streetscape."
"Slokker Homes’ Vibe is part of a growing pipeline of developments in East Village. Construction is also underway on Bankside Properties’ Library Square, and construction is anticipated to begin in 2026 on Ayrshire Group’s Lyric, Trico Communities’ The Edgewater, and Truman’s hotel development."

Agreed that it'd be a nice landmark, but I'd assume it's cost related? I'd think rounded corners are more expensive and it seems difficult to get developers to build in EV to begin with.
To argue against my point, I don't know what you do with that space either. But not having it makes it feel like it is missing.

So I'm fairly certain that Library Square is not under construction even though groundbreaking was in February. Anyone have any intel on that? Either way, I am just shocked and thrilled that anyone is building in East Village right now.

It is too bad they couldn't have just done a more modern Flat Iron building with the SW corner.
On the plus side, having the building pulled back as is will mean a lot more sunlight can get to the riff portion, making it more inviting and hopefully active for the proposed retail.
