So cool
Changes I noticed was they've added a larger LED screen above the NW entrance in place of some windows...and then a significant tree bank in front of the windows on the south indoor plaza.
1) If you think the roof solar panels were the reason, pay closer attentionSo the Flames cancelled the old agreement because Gondek wanted to add solar panels, but the new arena has solar panels on the roof?
Also, was excited at the first hint of a glowing logo on the roof in the animation as I thought it would be the Flames logo, but nope. A fucking bank logo! How unique.
yah good catch...still there on the community arena, but not the SW entryLooks like some of the folds in the paneled areas have been flattened. Wasn't there also supposed to be an area mix of matt, satin and gloss paneling to achieve the "ice" part of the theme?
Really not a fan of the east side and you just know HNIC is going to love to show that aerial viewpoint.
There is a Scotiabank logo on top of the Toronto arena as well. I'm sure it's negotiated and paid for. I'd rather they get revenue from a logo on the roof than revenue from fans buying tickets. Some will say it all goes to billionaires, but the Flames are about 19th in revenue/income, so it's not like our owners are making much more than anyone else.1) If you think the roof solar panels were the reason, pay closer attention
2) The bank logo has been there since day one, standard protocol for arenas
But hey, go off king!
Agreed, the east side is easily the biggest weakness, architecturally, and also is the side that is likely most visible. Not a great idea to put the "back of house" there IMO.Looks like some of the folds in the paneled areas have been flattened. Well , where would you want it to go lol. The North and West are you're primary street facing areas. You dont design an arena for the postcard photo-op from a hill....but even saying that, the south side design is quite tasteful and well lit, it will look fineAgreed, the east side is easily the biggest weakness, architecturally, and also is the side that is likely most visible. I assure you ticket prices will not be lower as a result of a corporate sponsorshipI'd rather they get revenue from a logo on the roof than revenue from fans buying tickets.
I'm here to complain about the issue, not to solve itWell , where would you want it to go lol. The North and West are you're primary street facing areas.
