"Open air bar" - I can't imagine this can be open for much of the season? I'm guessing it's got a retractable enclosure of some kind.
I could see a series of radient heaters under covered sections, to make it more...comfortable lol? Games in Sept/Oct/Nov/March/April/Mey though, let alone summer concerts and stuff....Nice to have a variety of options

Looks like 5th ave is closing for reconstruction, as some had suspected. When they say flores ladue parade (17thave) is having the layby removed for a travel lane....why would they do that if the rail crossing is only one lane in each? or is that being changed too?

If this patio gets sun, it will be useable a lot of the time. The rooftop patio at Craft is open during the winter sometimes and probably gets at least 6 months of solid use with the heaters.
west facing patio!! I see a fair number of people using it tbh, save for the rare -25 night. Again, lots can be done in the winter season to make it even more comfortable

While I love an outdoor winter patio in Calgary as much as the next person, the direction it is facing is irrelevant. The sun will have already set by 7pm puck drop from the beginning of the season until the time change in the spring. Sure some pregame beers will happen, but it will mostly be empty for Flames games. Unless they find a way to enclose it like the old Laurier Lounge in the Beltine.
