" - Each beam weighs about 48,000 lbs (~21,800 kg) and is 38 metres in length.
- A sealant protects the beams from weather elements and UV.
- The beams will soon be covered with roofing material on the outside but will remain exposed inside to create a pretty sharp interior design feature.
- Mass timber beams are structural design elements for the conference center as well."

It will come down to how well the "copper" exterior is executed, but if that turns out well this could be a real stunner! Really liking how the SAIT campus is coming together.

I work on the design side, and this is pretty much my universal opinion now. Large glulam/CLT is perhaps my favourite material by a country mile. It is so damn sexy when done right.
