Can someone tell me why they do the full building wrap with scaffolding? My guess would be because there's asbestos in the siding and it need to be contained during the abatement. Or just for general demolition dust?

A little sad that the good bones of the historic brick building will get removed and replaced with two stories of fake brick cladding.

I had no idea that existed underneath!! They butchered the original two buildings. I always just thought this was built some time in the 80's.

I was also completely unaware... according to Calgary Imagery, the building on the right dates back to at least 1924. The building on the left dates back to at least 1948. Interestingly both were adjacent to a number of single-family homes. Talk about mixed zoning...

That is so very cool, and it makes it even more of a shame that they're knocking them down.
