In a weird way the font almost makes it look like a mid century modern building from that angle. Like it’s an extension of the office beside it.

This project is a big win for this part of the CBD, but if we're calling a Hampton Inn an "upscale hotel" now, then I don't want to live any more.It is now open.

It's hard to quantify what an upscale hotel is these days. Compared with the many 6 storey wood frame Comfort Inns, and such that have replaced motels, it feels upscale.

Hilton branding is a bit odd. They use Hampton Inn for the Banff Trail motel and this one, when they're clearly not the same category. There's usually one by airports as well, but also one in downtown Toronto and downtown Vancouver.

From the pictures it seems much much nicer than the Hampton Inn I stayed at in Lethbridge
