Fairmont Hotel | ?m | ?s | Truman

Someone had said it is going where Singapore Sam's is.
The would align with the Eighth Avenue Place columns in the background of the original renders. Outside of Stampede/Scotia Place demand, this area is right near the central of downtown. The Hampton Inn opened last year, Courtyard/Autograph a couple years before, and the Residence Inn at the Oliver. Makes a lot of sense for a higher end hotel here for those expensing on business.

Would hope they keep the Singapore Sams in the lobby of the Fairmont so I can come in at 2:20 AM after the bars close and crush some ginger beef! Open air concept right next to the check in would be great, similar to Hawthorn in the Palliser. Guests would love it.

I’m also going to note that one of my friend’s uncle owns Singapore Sam’s. I’m sure he would’ve mentioned that they were going to redevelop the property.

To each their own on taking anecdata seriously. I’m going to ask him about this the next time I see him.

happy were getting this project, not crazy about the impact on traffic at that corner, vehicle and pedestrian, which already isnt great. the parking lot behind craft being midblock would be more manageable but not saying no to anywhere.

Any rumours yet on the height?
This is only a guess on part, but I would say around 35-40 floors. If it's the Singapore Sam's location as suggested by many, I would expect a tower similar to the Marriott Residence Inn around the corner. Who knows, maybe we'll see something taller, as 100 of the 325 units are luxury residential, which would mean less units per floor then the Marriott has.
