Unless it cant be developed while this construction is underway and the area is being used for the admin offices, I cant believe the west side of stampede trail is still just crickets.

‘We’re on track, on budget, on time’: Calgary’s new mayor Jeromy Farkas on Scotia Place

Did anybody download the plans from DP? What was on the upper concourse between the concourse and the bowl?

The cross section and bowl render in design brief shows a wall. There must be something more than just concessions going in there, otherwise why wouldn't you lower the upper bowl to meet the top of the lower 5 rows and shorten the building height?

The plans are here: Development Permit.

Not sure if there is anything more there, other than concessions/washrooms. Looks like just the upper concourse level. You can see the Upper Concourse level on page 19, and the cross section on page 38.

I'm thinking the wall just to make the concourse area large enough height and width wise for a large concourse?

Just a wall is between the upper and lower seating bowls of the upper concourse. Scotia Place has a near identical seating layout to UBS Arena:

The walls are there so concessions and washrooms can be fit under the seating, which saves space to fit a larger upper concourse.

Has there been any updates as to interior design yet? I'm assuming we'll know more once that experience centre opens up but I'm so curious lol. I always feel kind of jealous of edmonton because of their "Ford Hall" and we're obviously not getting something at that scale but it would be cool. The current interior at the dome SUCKS!

I've always been a fan of the Ford Hall too

I'm sure they'll put some advertising or promo on those walls and not leave them blank. At first, I was thinking you could lower the upper bowl, get rid of the stairs and push the concessions against the exterior wall and that would move the circulation space against the bowl. Then I thought what's better is you could maintain the height of the upper bowl and still push concessions and washrooms to the exterior that way the concourse is open to the bowl. Not like there are windows that you're worried about there being too much light getting into the bowl. Maybe just a me thing, oh well.
