He was just picking it up since coming back from WJC, going 15 pts in 8 games, and two games with 15 PIMs? Not sure how that's possible given no fighting in the NCAA. I doubt he sees any jail time, but those are pretty serious charges, first degree aggravated assault. Usually that's more than a simple fight or bar altercation.

On a side note, was at Chumir for an unrelated thing and a guy came in with his finger half cut off due to a bar altercation in Calgary. He's been a regular for years and got into an argument and the other person pulled out a knife. Be careful out there and you never know who got a weapon.

Rumours online are that he was defending his mom. Violence is obviously never great but in context, an 18 year old getting into a bar fight for someone saying something about your family isn't really that unusual. Just most 18 year olds probably can't break the other person's jaw with one punch. It was weird they came out with such a serious charge to start with, and an older article made it seem like the cop visited the victim in hospital to collect his and his friends' statements and that was it.

This won't affect his draft status and he will probably pay a fine and do some community service or something like that. Wonder if the video will ever come out.

Starting to sound like Kadri will get moved very soon. Should get a 1st and a prospect for him, may have to retain though.

The whole, Francis: "He hasn't asked for a trade", just kidding, Dreger: "He has asked for a trade". Were only a few hours apart.
That doesn't mean he's gone before the deadline as the flames have no real need to trade him for anything. I do wonder how a bored and frustrated Kadri is in the room down the stretch if they don't trade him. Could be something you want to avoid, especially with your next wave coming into the lineup over the rest of the season.

McKenna is turning it up in the NCAA. We're not going to beat out Vancouver, but hopefully with a new arena on the way, we get the same luck Edmonton got with McDavid.

I don't think he is asking for a trade, but is open to it at this point. I'm sure the phones are ringing pretty constant for Conroy right now. I've seen Weegar on some of these trade bait boards too, I'm 100% against trading him!

Flames price on Kadri is probably too high, I'd say the same for Weegar but I'm not a Weegar guy at all. Weeger went into a mental pretzl about making the Olympic team, he's supposed to be our future Captain, I just don't see it.

I think Kadri will be traded, his value is quite high currently. I love how Conroy will only take the best deal though, he is doing a great job as GM so far.
