Went for a showing this past week... probably some of the most interesting layouts we've seen in a building thus far. Looked at their 2Bds and 3Bd + Den unit. Of the 2Bds, only the largest one (roughly 800sqft) would be decent IMHO, and even yet, the layout of the living area with a dining room light low of the ground in the middle of what is essentially the hallway made the space strange. The closets in all of the units are SMALL, and they used the built in condo-sized refrigerators instead of full size ones. IIRC, the building is wood frame after the ground floor, and you can tell... the hallways are very echo-y when walking. Internal storage units for winter tires/suitcases/etc. on each floor. The common room is nice, and the rooftop looked fun. Small W/Ds. Kitchen finishings were nice.
The 3Bd+den unit is... the most unique thing I think I've seen. There's only a couple of them, but the primary suite is with the kitchen and living area on the main ground floor, and your bed looks out a huge window right on to the sidewalk... definitely need a good blind for privacy. There's also no gates to the exterior unit door, so anyone could quite literally walk right up to the door from the sidewalk. But then... you have a 16ft staircase to the basement (P1) level. Here you'll find two small rooms (no windows), and an approx 10ftx10ft den area, which has a sliding door to what is essentially a concrete cell open to the above outside. It's really funny. It's a "patio" with 16ft high concrete walls enclosing it, and you'd barely be able to fit a set of chairs. Not sure what they were going for here. Oh, and then you have a small mudroom that then walks into the parkade... so hypothetically, you could pull right up to your apartment door. We were laughing about the layout.
Starting to rent apartments in March, with some of the building being condos as well.
