It seems beyond greed or laziness and almost sheer arrogance. Like no respect whatsoever for what exists or came before their vision. I also fear the push of luxury unaffordable properties and Ontario investor condos. The urban fabric may suffer in the longterm.

Yeah Arlington Street isn't great either. At least Truman generally seems to value quality materials and design (aside from a horrendous lack of historical preservation).

I miss the old apartment building that was there, but I will say that this is a nice build. It's not your average 6 story build, it's got good form. Well done @MoDA

I love this one, especially the side that faces 2nd St, and that bright retail unit makes this corner feel much more alive. Does anyone know what kind of tenant is going in there?

They have a promotional video on the project website that shows it as a Starbucks and they refer to it as "the ground floor coffee shop". If it is a coffee shop, it'll be nice in the summer with the bike lanes on both streets.

Yeah, tearing down that rare heritage building was a mistake. We make a lot of efforts saving a couple good buildings and pat ourselves on the back while happily tearing down the rest.
