TIL: Marathon Realty Company was the development arm of Canadian Pacific. So the idea to relocate the tracks had support from within the company...did it fail internally, or did it fail to get public subsidy, or something else? I never knew Sykes history before becoming mayor in 1969.

The alternate route does not look awesome, though I wonder how much better Vic Park and Sunalta/West Village might have been...looks like Inglewood/Ramsay may have been even worse
