I think the scope of work should be clarified for everyone: They are completely demolishing and reconstructing the existing residential tower from floors 3 to 9 and enlarging the floor area of the building slightly. The 2nd floor condo units at the rear, and commercial units on the main floor are not being altered in this phase. The building will remain 9 storeys.
It’s too bad they weren’t able to add 2 or 3 floors.

I really wish that heritage building in the foreground was some type of restaurant or something. Seems like such a missed opportunity to not utilize that patio space along the river for something like that.
Agree 100%. It would be a great spot and easy to do. there is even parking to the west for those who worry about parking.

Oh edit, according to this, Calgary parks was trying in 2021 to find a tenant by 2022

From 2021: The city is posting the lease listing this week. There's already a for lease sign in front of the building. Those interested in the opportunity can reach out via 311, online, or via email.

Apparently sales for this project have done pretty well (far better than I would have thought). Only 14 units left, it says this will be finished by the fall:

There's only 44 units total though, so abut 2/3 sold, which is about when projects start construction.
