Fairmont Hotel | ?m | ?s | Truman

Could be next to Cowboys Casino or on the NW corner parking lot of BMO Centre as well if it's truly in that area.
The NW corner seems too big for this development. I’m going with NE corner since they said it’s within the long-term plan. Other lot around Stampede ground doesn’t seem reasonable to me. The only problem I have is some news mentioned it’s close to Stampede park, not in it.

For me, if it's in that area I hope it's attached to Cowboys. A luxury, 5 star Fairmont Hotel directly attached to a major casino in our entertainment district sounds like a dream!
For me, the last thing I'd want to see a Fairmont connected to is Cowboys. Ugh.

Fairmont Gold Members upon arrival and seeing Cowboys: "Brother eww. What's that brother?"

i guess it would be NE corner of new arena
Doubtful, CSEC holds that land option. Would be a strange location for a fairmont at this time, given the lack of development to the north of the arena. Stampede trail seems more likely

When it comes to downtown hotels, Calgary is kicking ass. If this and the other two Marriotts get built, that would be what? 10 new downtown hotels in the last seven years?
Trying to think of 10 downtown hotels built or proposed over 10 years.
-Dorian
-Hilton EV
-Hilton 6th ave
-Stampede Hilton u/c
And the three proposed.

We’ve gotten ten new hotels in the last decade, what’s a new higher end casino - think Monte Carlo in Monaco or something more vegas like hehe. I also think this is where speakers/singers/bands/celebrities might stay before or after concerts, so being close even tunnel connected to the arena would be most efficient.

Fairmonts close or near casinos:
  1. Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu (La Malbaie, Québec, Canada)
Connected/adjacent to Casino de Charlevoix, with direct access via an underground tunnel/passage.
  2. Fairmont El San Juan Hotel (Isla Verde, Puerto Rico)
On-site casino, Foxwoods El San Juan Casino, part of the resort experience.
  3. Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv (Kyiv, Ukraine)
On-site casino, referenced by the hotel as SL Kyiv Casino.
  4. Fairmont Nile City (Cairo, Egypt)
Casino in the same complex, commonly listed as Nile City Casino, Fairmont Nile City Hotel.
  5. Fairmont Monte Carlo (Monaco)
Near the Casino Square area (not physically attached)
