Fairmont Hotel | ?m | ?s | Truman

It seems like the talk
This article seems to suggest this new hotel is "part of a long-term plan, which includes a total of four hotel builds in the area."

From the article.
But there’s more to ponder on the horizon for Alberta’s Blue Sky City. This hotel project will bring together a world-class team of architects and designers to create a mixed-use building, combining a luxury Fairmont hotel with branded residences

Could this be the Allies Morrison project? I hope it isn't because it means some other project will be, but it makes me wonder.

I think that lines been deleted? This seems just be a write up of the press release. The 4 hotel build is from the C+E plan from CMLC with 4 sites they want to build a hotel. The way they mention C+E, BMO Centre, while calling it Great Downtown Calgary, not sure if it's intentional but certainly adds to the mystery.

It’s still in the article:

When the City Centre (now Petronas) tower was built in Eau Claire back in the 2010s, there was a plan for a second tower on the west side of the block that was supposed to have a Fairmont Hotel. The second phase never happened, obviously. But the building in the rear right kind of gives me the vibe of that building.
That’s what first came to my mind after hearing it is a Fairmont hotel being proposed (i.e. City Centre Phase 2). Here are a couple of renders of that project:

Whatever the mystery location is in the “greater downtown area of Calgary” - this is exciting news.

Here is another article:

Interesting that City Center is featured in the accompanying photo … hmmm…
Only evidence that I have that I doubt it’s the City Centre location is that I believe the first phase was built by Cadillac Fairview. They are getting into the high rise game quite heavily (we hope) around Chinook Mall area. I would think they would be the developer if it was the CC area in Eau Claire? Wouldn’t want Truman encroaching on their previous developments

i guess it would be NE corner of new arena
Fairmont is doubling down on Calgary, announcing plans for a second hotel in the city to capitalise on its revitalised Culture and Entertainment District
