Calgary International Airport

Since there are no spare 789s available for longer destinations I'm thinking the destination will be somewhere within reach of YYC. Monterrey maybe?

I would love it if we got a flight to a new continent. Really hoping for South America - never made it down there, had a trip booked but had to cancel during Covid.

I like to see ambitious guesses but some are pretty unrealistic, lol. The summer 787 schedule is stretched thin, there's no room to add more long hauls. Winter is another story but they wouldn't be announcing Winter 26/27 routes at this time of year.

I'm going to guess MTY. Will be pleasantly surprised if it's something more grandiose.

It's interesting they're holding an event at the zoo with the CEO and others for another vacation destination. I feel like AC don't do these announcements unless it's a new long haul route.

They’ve held press events to announce the likes of Mexico City and Panama City which aren’t intercontinental.

Also given it’s the 100th non-stop they probably would have had a media event regardless.

Medellin or Bogota would be amazing destinations, but when I think of the Calgary Zoo in recent years, I think of Siku the polar bear. Churchill Manitoba perhaps? It's fairly unconnected currently and a huge tourism hotbed to see polar bears. Along those lines, maybe Nuuk for an alternative?

Churchill is my bet too. Make sense with the zoo location. If they were going to try direct flights from southern Canada to Iqaluit or Nuuk, would make more sense from Toronto.

Coincidentally, guess who's in the market for 18 billion worth of helicopters?

I wonder how many of our new Ukrainian friends worked on the Mi-24 program? A maple-hind factory would make a nice add to aerospace alley..

Special forces are getting blackhawks. The Valor's range and speed is so compelling, I doubt we end up with something else for the rest of the program. A dedicated attack helicopter is on the offing too, backing up a renewal of the tank fleet.
