I like how Kit has changed the look of Kensington. I'm not a proponent of putting highrises into Kensington, but one or two kind of gives a bigger city vibe.

And this one is a step up from the Minto development next door, and faces the LRT tracks, so it doesn't seem out of place.

Yes, the Kesnsington area can definitely benefit from the strategic locations of a couple of towers like this. Not out of place/scale at all.

Hope something happens at the corner of Kensington and 10th. Doesn't need to be a highrise, but something more interesting than is there right now.

An engagement website for this project has been launched: https://qpengage.ca/project/kensington/ It looks like just a land use application is being contemplated for now, not a development permit, however there are some conceptual images and renderings. This is quite a bit taller and denser...
Zoning is in place, but no sign of a DP for that corner.

That is (was, given they are now closed) their job. You could say the same thing about O2. They weren't developers (for the most part, they did have a couple of projects), they were planning consultants for land owners.

Wasn't Quantum Place Chris Ollenburger of CMLC fame? They were quarter backing some massive land use change out in Canmore I think? Surprised they've closed up shop.
Yep same guy. I believe he recently moved on, but he was the main guy at QP.

I really wish this building had gone with CRUs along the north side. Seeing the street presence I think it would have been nice to start a retail strip entry way to 10th right from the LRT station.

Agreed, but they wouldn't budge on it even after it was suggested multiple times by the community planning group. Even the idea of live/work units didn't fly.

That's so odd given JEMM has CRUs in there building in Bridgeland. Maybe they've had a really negative experience with them or something?
