Calgary International Airport

^^ very cool. I’ll be taking a Porter jet for the first time next week, looking forward to it. I’ve flown with them once before, but just a short hop on one of their turboprops from New York to Toronto.

The 2x2 seating configuration is nice, since most people travel in pairs.

The centralized security opened today with all 7 lanes, and the old A/B/C all closed. Wonder what they plan to put in the previous A/C spaces.

I’m really scratching my head wondering why the A and C security points are closing now and not after the holiday rush!

This has 7 lanes. I'm not usually flying during the very busy times, but that seems about the same number of total lanes between A/B/C before. And it makes more sense to funnel people to the one with the new CT machines which speeds up all the unpacking.
Will be interesting to see what the plan is for the spaces vacated by pre board security. More dining/retail options?
I hope the Westjet Lounge gets expanded, and maybe Aspire will open a domestic one. Some for food options would be nice as well.

I couldn't find any kind of celebration at PTY for the first Panama City flight, but it got off to a rough start. The first departure left on time, but was forced to return to YYC for mechanical issues where they swapped the plane and re-departed at 07:30 about 8 hours late.

After a 7 week delay, Montego Bay resumes tomorrow with the last winter inaugural on Saturday to Cozumel.

A sizeable WestJet update for Summer:

Minneapolis - Increased from 4x weekly to daily
Liberia - Increased from 1x to 2x weekly
Quebec City - Increased from 4x to 5x weekly, resumes April 28
Fredericton - Increased from 3x to 4x weekly
Sudbury - Increased from 2x to 3x weekly, resumes May 14
Windsor - Increased from 4x to 5x weekly, resumes May 21
Deer Lake - Increased from 3x to 4x weekly
Sydney (NS) - Its scheduled but doesn't appear to be open for booking
Kitchener/Waterloo - Reduced to a single daily (was 10/11x weekly this past summer).

Additional flights to Varadero and Reykjavik also added.

Guessing there will be a few more domestic increases, maybe some more Caribbean / Mexico flying too. Wonder if they'll add Gander, Sault St. Marie or some other domestic adds.

There was a planned international destination that wasn't included in the announcement last month, but believe that isn't planned from YYC.
