Thesis is at least thematically appropriate near a university! That's enough to put it at least mid-pack citywide. I think you all are forgetting just how low the bar is for naming random apartment buildings in Calgary!

I picked a random street in the Beltline for a baseline with 7 buildings:

  • 2 / 7 I don't think are words?
  • 1 / 7 includes where it is (+1 for relevance, but in the most boring way possible)
  • 1 / 7 is named after the guy who built it 100 years ago
  • 2 / 7 are vaguely related to stones (Stonehaven is a place in Scotland; Bluestone is usually a type of limestone, but in this case is just part of the portfolio of similar apartments nearby Yellowstone, Redstone etc.)
  • 1 / 7 is a type of bird (I don't think Calgary is known for sandpipers, but I think we might have some species here? Half-points though as it's an obscure reference, the Magpie would be better!"
So Thesis? Yeah it clears my extremely low bar for naming apartment buildings that will be forgotten a month after it opens :)!
