Interesting that this has surfaced again. I thought it was long dead. It has a new title now as the address is slightly different than the one on the previous permit. The number of units has increased a little bit but overall still looks to be the same proposal.

Maybe they are planning to make a move?

The DP submission calls this "Oxford-Wexford Beltline", at 1150 Centre St SE.

Imagine if this goes ahead same time as Beltline Block is on the up. Yowza!

Lots of change coming to that area with 710 units under construction or with an active building permit, and the strong possibility of another 392 units. In that small 500' radius will very likely see 1,112 new units get built. If phase the twos of Beltline and 1150 Centre also get built that small area would gain 1627 units. That would be pretty amazing, probably enough to kick start it's own little hotspot.

With the retail in those developments it’ll get decent busy.

I can see 1st SW becoming more prominent, similar to 10th Ave. The streetscape already has a head start on developing into a consistently vibrant corridor — it just needs more residential and mixed-use units in the vicinity, along with continued development expanding south toward 17th Ave.

The opportunity's there for sure. With Beltline Block having retail facing 1st, it will be a big boost to the street vibe. Let's put it this way, it'll add 10 times the vibrancy the previous buildings added, which was pretty much zero.
