Looking at the site plan, I'm betting blocks 9, 10 and 11 - the ones right on 16th - will be 6 storey wood frame.

So, the first DP is in, this one for "Lot 3". Architect is "Pact" and developer is "Alpha Built" out of Edmonton, who have done/are doing a few decent buildings here in Calgary including the 6 storey Kingslanding building and some of the midrises in Shawnee Park. I'm just not a fan of these sort of comprehensive townhouse developments - I much prefer townhomes to be street oriented - so this one isn't doing it for me. Still, at least it's a sign of life for Midfield.

Pretty disappointed it’s just townhomes and not something more dense but I guess some movement on this is nice.

I think this Block was zoned for lower density, but the Blocks along 16 Ave and Moncton Road are expected to be higher density.

A few town homes and a couple of 6 storey wood frames would fill it out decently. It's kind of an isolated location, so at this point, the extra density will be good.

Nothing earth shattering, but this is what I would expect for the location. These mixed with the rowhomes, is a good mix, and a decent density boost.

I'm fine with those, not spectacular but we've certainly seen far worse.

Interesting crosswalk designs here as well. But in all seriousness those are some pretty great views on the north side.

I was originally disappointed that there wasn't more density here, but considering the location, it's a good upgrade form what it was.

Architecturally, it's almost identical to the first townhome DP that was submitted months back. At least the site layout is a bit better this time around, with some of the buildings facing courtyards...

I was also a bit disappointed at first, but I'm good with the density they're proposing. Different story for Crown Park.
