Eau Claire West | 109.11m | 33s | QuadReal | NORR

BCIMC is the owner and has been the owner. They started their own real estate company, Quadreal. It's true they don't need GWL or Bentall developing and managing their real estate assets.

This was posted already.

Wowww, even more density?! Wasn’t the plan already to have 2000 units plus a hotel?

As hinted about, movement:

No DP yet, but a land use redesignation asking for more density on this important site is a postive step.
Interesting! Will be one to watch.

Sidebar on the development map tool - I find it kind of funny that this is a method to get public feedback on individual projects, but half the files on the map provide literally no content to even look at as a member of the public. Example - the only thing provided for feedback is a proposal for "additional density on site":

Sure, I think density is great - but as a member of the public there's no information or summary of current state approved density, like what is the "additional" part being compared to? Why bother asking for feedback at all for this kind of thing as there's no ability to even knowledgeably interpret the proposal?

Some applications are better than others or are at a stage where there's just more details that can be reviewed. These low-detail ones are just noise though.

There's a QR code by this site for an open house regarding updates to the land use redesignation on this one, it brings you to this:

The east parking lot is also fenced off and there's signage saying it's closed for June, not sure what they're doing there.

I went to the open house two weeks ago but neglected to post until now. Nothing too, too interesting, just some minor changes in heights and density.

They want more density, but spread out over more towers, so no real substantial height changes.

The hotel portion has been removed, and with it, the plus 15 connection. It will be all residential

There will be a very limited frontage of Mixed use, concentrated on the very northwest corner of the site. The architect hired to do the massings was Norr, so expect the final product to also be Norr.

One interesting thing I noticed is that one of their massing renders includes 3 Eau Claire! Someone from Norr must've snuck that in as a tribute to the tower that never was.
