Putting together various City sources, they're targetting removing 7.5 million square feet from the downtown office pool, at a current subsidy of $75/sqft, for a total public cost of $562.5 million.

I doubt the program goes forward except for projects like this, affordable housing or other purposes serving public objectives (artist lofts?).

Frack the energy code makes for buldings lacking windows 🤨
This is looking like the Hub’s younger brother.
Are the energy codes applied nationally? I am sure they may be partially to blame, but the source might be something else as many Canadian cities seem to manage to have better materials and window placement, even in affordable housing.
