    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Site is listed as 3,600m2 in the land use amendment document, 12 FAR means floor area budget of 43,200. If the development were just a 800m2 extrusion coming out of the ground with a floor-to-floor height of 3.2m, it would be 54s/172.8m tall, not counting taller mechanical floors or taller...

For sure, happened to me when trying to browse from Nepal on hotel wifi, don't recall if it worked on my phone or not.

Update on this one, Phase 1 passed rezoning 13-1 with Cllr. Chu the only dissenter (go figure). Phase 2 still up for debate, but it's likely to proceed given this precedent. Our dreams of a north bank skyline are a little closer to reality! There was also a 120m rezoning approved unanimously on...

    Stampede Station | 277.3m | 71s | Truman | NORR

My chips are on FlixBus site east of Centre and 12th. Though the planned Green Line station there is likely to move Northwest with the above-ground alignment, which takes some potential out of the height. Still, would be the ideal spot for something around 150–200m, help fill out the skyline...

Yes, it's a legal requirement coming down from Alberta's Municipal Government Act that we are to conduct proper community engagement and hold a public hearing for any modification to statutory plans like the Land Use Bylaw. Manitoba changed this requirement recently, requiring some threshold of...

    The Morrison | 119m | 35s | Western Securities | Hindle Architects

When Toronto is slumping behind their construction targets hardcore, all those people have to go somewhere. Cost of living is still ridiculous across the board in most of the country. Even through these next couple years of immigration overcorrection, I think we'll see our growth keep steady. 2...

Increase by 20 floors each instead and it's a deal. For the sake of the skyline.

Probs just a simple misread - elevation says 277.3m (377300) and 245.55m (345550) (grade always starts at 100m or 100000 for some reason) Tallest and 4th tallest in Alberta?

Here's a crappy shop putting the towers into position from the more notable angle in the North. Though from here they'll be a little bit wider, and the gap between them a little bit less. Juust tall enough to poke out from behind the Bow.

This is a great point, there seems to be a class of new buildings taking this seriously, with the District at Beltline, Vesta Broadway, the Riff (soon), and now this. Even Park Central is pretty dignified and fancy even though it's just a loading space. I wonder how well some of those...

Assuming 260-280m (given the 10 double-height storeys from the podium and crown), this is the relative height in the skyline from where I live in the East. A decent proposal at Hat Elbow would set us up nicely to fulfil my dream of a mountain range shaped skyline.

Whaaa? — All of these sites are in later stages of planning & approvals. Hopefully we see movement on Library Square before the season is over.

    Midfield Heights | 40m | 11s | City of Calgary

Hopefully Midfield Heights *is* the thing that housing within it will be near. Would be a huge missed opportunity for the region not to make the place a retail hub.
