It's basically the easiest/cheapest building that can be approved based on a common technicality of the fire codes in North America. 5 wooden floors and base concrete floor with the insinuation that if the fire code wasn't the way it was, all 6 floors would be wooden.
Not sure if I'm the first to mention this, but Google Maps has just updated their 3D renders of Calgary!
Also I think the renders in general have gained a higher resolution.

It's just the tip of the iceberg of what will hopefully soon be an extension of downtown spilling over the river. Interested to see what happens to the area when the green line starts construction.
Didn't realize just how massive this is. And it's weird to think that just last time I was in Calgary(last summer), the site largely didn't have much on it.
If those are the colors they're going to use, that's going to be a very lackluster tower portion, especially by East Village standards. The whole tower design looks quite bland, even though I'm sure everyone would be happy to see that parking lot filled in.
