What I'm hearing is that we should not have rebranded as "Blue Sky City" but instead as "Singapore Sam's City".

An ILS glideslope is usually a standard 3 degrees, exceptions are places like London City Centre that is 5.5 degrees and requires specific training and aircraft limitations that can operate into it. I do not believe Toronto Billy Bishop is not standard. Still feel this is a flimsy excuse for a...

Not buying the Nav Canada equipment issue, very very unlikely. It may be some sort of maximum obstacle altitude for runway 17R/35L. Even that seems a stretch.

Hope this is true, DMAP still has it listed as "Pending Appeal". Application was approved October 2025, but an appeal was made to SDAB.

Yeah, it's almost like people should drive to the conditions to be able to stop on a hill with all the new technology cars have now. I never thought about a second Japanese city. Osaka would be great, I wonder if they'd take a shot at a winter seasonal like Air Canada is with Sapporo 3x weekly for the ski season from YVR?

Beijing would be a pretty sure thing, considering it was served previously by Hainan until the pandemic messed that up.

    Calgary International Airport

Yup, probably all the long haul that we can handle with their fortress hub and the operational limitations of YYC (elevation mainly) before it heads to the other major spots. I'd have to think it would be YYZ before YVR.

At some point something has to give and WestJet will put some of these new 787's on international routes not from YYC.
