Saw some equipment on site here yesterday

There's a pile driver on site now for the little project (don't remember the name) on the northwest corner of 19th street and 1st avenue NW

Didn't manage to get any pictures, but framing is up for the second floor on this one

Anyone remember the details of how the underground parking is supposed to interact with the lot directly to the east? It's meant to be shared between M2 and a future development if I remember correctly, but it looks like the ramp was built right along the lot line parallel to the Riverwalk...

One of the units will be a take-away pizza place, and I believe the corner unit is being turned into a spa. Not sure what's going in between yet.

Agreed 100%. There's enough vacant lots there that even a 4-10 storey limit would add enough new residents to the area to make it vibrant. Let the remaining parking lots in the core fill with highrise residential, and focus on more human-scaled development elsewhere

There's some more detailed plans that I didn't get any pictures of, but it looks like the old plan would've serviced the inner city neighbourhoods a bit better. On the flip side, the highway network that was planned at the same time would've ended up cutting through the beltline and along the...

I found this map showing what the original plans were for rapid transit in Calgary from the 1960s. The new central library has a ton of old transit and highway plans, it's pretty interesting to see what could've been!
