Agreed 100%. There's enough vacant lots there that even a 4-10 storey limit would add enough new residents to the area to make it vibrant. Let the remaining parking lots in the core fill with highrise residential, and focus on more human-scaled development elsewhere

I found this map showing what the original plans were for rapid transit in Calgary from the 1960s. The new central library has a ton of old transit and highway plans, it's pretty interesting to see what could've been!

Looks like a pilot bikeshare project by Lime Bike is starting up sometime this week, with another company starting up in the spring
The transit forecasts at the bottom of the page here show some of the potential BRT connections that might exist in the long-term, including a few in the north
