The developer behind Avenue 33 in Marda Loop is planning on building another residential project in the booming neighbourhood, a scheme set to replace five homes at the corner of 33 Avenue and 15 Street SW. Rezoning of the property was approved by city council and an application for a development permit was submitted in July seeking construction of a building since marketed as 'COCO' by the proponent, Sarina Developments.

Currently under review, the development permit application requests approval of a 76-unit multi-residential development that would include 99 underground parking stalls. At four storeys and 15 metres tall, the building represents another dense addition to a corridor increasingly subject to intensification.

A website set up by Sarina for the development ahead of sales launch details a unit composition of one- and two-bedroom units, with larger 'cityhomes' also to be provided. Sales start from the mid $200,000s for one-bedroom units, while cityhomes will be selling from the mid $400,000s.

A lone rendering on the website depicts the rectilinear expression of the building accented by grid-framed protrusions that abut inset balconies. A colourful splash wall greets residents into the building, while the top floors are reserved for expansive outdoor decks protected by individual canopies.

We'll continue to follow the development as it moves toward sales and construction. Additional information can be found in the Database file linked below.
