Before modern additions to the Beltline skyline like Mark on 10th made their debut, ProCura installed a recognizable peak of its own. The 27-storey Montana soars above the historic Nellie McClung House with a design by Zeidler BKDI Architects that uses brick, limestone and glass to accentuate setbacks in the facade.

The photo above, taken from the corner of 7th Street and 16th Avenue SW in early 2009, captures the rise of the tower, and the beginning stages of glazing application. Already making its presence felt, the building was a little over halfway towards structural completion at this point.

By February 2010, the development was completed. Montana contains 189 suites, 13 estate homes, and 260 underground parking stalls, and its pyramidal roof and spire, a Postmodern-like embellishment, creates a distinctive silhouette on the city skyline.
