Embassy Bosa's The Royal hit another milestone this week. The 34-storey, 223-unit tower, which has been under construction since June 2015 and making a steady rise into the skyline of Calgary's Beltline district for the past year, saw the installation of the first pieces of cladding.

The first few pieces that have been installed show a glazing system comprised of medium and light grey spandrel glass panels with darker grey mullion accents. Sections of cladding have gone up on the third floor on the northwestern corner of the building, as well as sections on the fourth floor of the western and southern sides of the building.

Now that the first few pieces of cladding have gone up, history dictates that the pace of installation will accelerate, so we can expect to see more going up in rapid succession soon.

The project, with its retail component spearheaded financially by First Capital Realty and the residential portion developed by Embassy Bosa, will feature a podium containing two double height floors to be used as retail. Vancouver's Urban Fare will set up shop offering residents an in-building grocery store. The Royal will also feature over 10,000 square feet of amenity space.
