West Campus Development Trust, recently unveiled a 288-unit, mixed-use development for Calgary's new and upcoming University District. The development joins other projects already underway in the district, such as Brookfield Residential's Ivy, Truman Homes' Noble, along with a planned seniors' home developed in conjunction with the Brenda Strafford Foundation. This project will be the largest to date and will feature retail spaces at the street level.

A major feature of the retail space will be Save-On-Foods, which will become the University District's first grocery store. The new 38,000-square-foot anchor tenant will be Save-On-Food's sixth store in Calgary, with anticipated construction start at the end of 2017 and an expected opening in 2020.

Above the main floor retail space will be five floors of rental residential space totalling 288 units. The residential component — to include one- to three-bedroom floor plans ranging in size from 528 to 1,130 square feet — is being built by Vancouver-based Gracorp Capital Advisors.

West Campus Development Trust (The Trust) is the community developer for Calgary’s University District. The Trust was created to lead the new progressive community masterplan for 200 acres of land located just west of the University of Calgary campus.
