Greenview Developments broke ground Tuesday morning on the seven-storey AVLI on Atlantic development in Inglewood, a milestone marked by a ceremony celebrating the $36 million project's construction. Located on 9th Avenue, the 64-unit residential building will also include $5 million in retail space on the ground floor.

Sturgess Architecture, the same practice behind Jasper National Park's Glacier Skywalk, has designed the building, which is currently 70 percent sold out. Homes are selling between $350,000 and $1.5 million, with floor plans ranging in size from 545 to 2,200 square feet. The development's five retail units provide prospective tenants with 1,044 to 5,230 square feet of space.

"Starting construction today marks a significant milestone for Inglewood as this will be the only luxury concrete condo building in the neighbourhood," said Brian Kernick, president of Greenview Developments. "I'm glad we have the opportunity to add new homes and create something iconic and different here."

Interiors appointed by Jerilyn Wright, one of Calgary's most notable interior designers, offer custom cabinetry, gourmet kitchens, high-gloss porcelain finishes, wood grain accents, and chrome hardware. The development will also hold a guest suite with garden terraces and outdoor living spaces fit for entertaining.
